The short version
The app works entirely on your device. We do not ask for an account, we do not collect personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not sell or share any data.
What stays on your device
Your favourites, star ratings, the unit and look you chose, and the bottles you tick in My Bar are stored only in the app's local storage on your phone. They are included in your device's normal backups (e.g. iCloud or Google backup), which are governed by Apple's or Google's own policies. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Purchases
The optional Full Bar unlock is a one-time purchase processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). The app talks to the store directly and keeps a single on-device note that the purchase was made; no third-party service is involved. "Restore purchase" asks the store for your earlier purchases. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google and never reach us.
Sending a recipe or a photo
If you choose to send us a recipe or a photo of a drink you made, the app sends what you typed and the photo you chose to our server at blepware.com, which forwards it to us as an email. Only what you put in the form is sent: the recipe or photo, the note, and your first name if you gave one. Nothing is sent without you tapping "Send to Jay", and the photo library or camera is only opened when you choose a photo. If the phone has no signal, the submission waits on the phone and goes when it is back online. We use what you send only to reply, to add the recipe or photo to the app if you agree, and to credit you by first name if you want that. You can ask us to remove anything you sent at any time.
Your own photos of drinks
A photo you take or choose to stand in for a drink's drawing is kept on your phone only, in the app's own folder, and is included in your device's normal backups. It leaves the phone only if you send it to us yourself.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no email addresses, no names collected by the app
- No analytics or tracking SDKs
- No advertising
- No location, contacts or microphone access; the camera and photos only when you choose a photo
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties
Age
Bar Cards is for adults of legal drinking age. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the app ever changes what it processes, this page will be updated first and the "last updated" date revised.
